Moora Street Numbering project

Published on Wednesday, 2 October 2024 at 10:04:25 AM

We’re excited to inform you about the Moora Street Numbering Project being undertaken in collaboration with Landgate, which involves the numbering of properties with dwellings.

This initiative is designed to comply with Aust/NZ Standards 4819:201 for Rural and Urban Addressing, ensuring clarity and consistency for all residents.

The reason for this change is for addresses to be readily and unambiguously identified and located. The number will be entered into the Landgate database, and this is accessed by all the Emergency Services. The street numbers are crucial for Emergency Services trying to locate a property when an emergency call has been placed for that location.

If your property is affected by this change, you will receive a letter detailing what to expect.

We also wish to advise that several properties will see a change in their street name. i.e. corner properties. This is because whatever street your main driveway is facing, will be your street name. In addition, several streets have had to be renumbered due to incorrect numbering initially, and this did not allow for more numbering to take place.

We apologise for any inconvenience and will assist wherever possible to help you with the changes which may affect you.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to enhance our community’s street addressing system. For more information, please contact Dawn Ardley, Manager of Infrastructure Services, on 9651 0000 or mis@moora.wa.gov.au.
