With the imminent arrival of renewable energy in the Shire of Moora, we have taken the opportunity to conduct a “Renewable Energy 101” for community members. It will be held on Tuesday 10th September, at the Moora Recreation Centre, between 6-8pm.

The programme will discuss the current nature of renewable energy in Western Australia, policy settings, the structure of the WA electricity grid, and the part played by renewable energy in supporting the transition of the grid to an increasing reliance of renewable technologies.

The programme will also include a discussion about renewable energy platforms and associated infrastructure in the Shire of Moora; what structures such as wind turbines and high voltage transmission lines will mean for the Shire; and how these will be developed over time.

This will be the first of a number of sessions we will conduct to inform the community about the changing face of the Shire as it adapts to the increasing presence of renewable energy.
