Wheatbelt Sports Forum in Moora

On Friday 9th June, representatives from local government and state sporting associations gathered in Moora, to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing sport in the Wheatbelt.

The forum began with an opening and Welcome to Country by Kim Sharpe, Regional Officer of Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, followed by an address by the Shire of Moora’s Amy Watts - who discussed sport in the Shire and its plans for sport and recreation in the future.

The group also heard from guest presenters from the WA Cricket Association, Hockey WA, Netball WA, Swimming WA, the WA Football Commission and the Shire of Dandaragan, who discussed current infrastructure needs, strategic planning and initiative for the region.
